Military Standards by Michael Mathiesen
Why- it provides quality spinal protection and chest protection while still
being able to fit under a jacket, it’s not outrageously expensive, and it’s a
brand we all know and trust.
2. SparX S-07 Ride Hard Helmet
Why: Good ventilation, great optical quality from a visor with integrated
vents, a free crashed replacement program, and paint that looks super-bad-ass,
all is a $130 lid. What’s not to like?
Why: After head injuries, foot and ankle injuries are the most common injuries
in a motorcycle accident. A good pair of boots can be the difference between
walking away and an amputated foot. These give great protection without looking
stupid under a pair of jeans at a bike night.
Why: It’s well-ventilated, fully armored, looks good, and does it all for under
$200.
5. Camelback H.A.W.G. Hydration System
Why: As the weather warms up and we go for all-day rides, it’s important to
stay hydrated. It’s also nice to have a place to stash things like jacket
liners, spare visors, and other essential gear.

1. Alpinestars - SP-2 Gloves
- I really need a full length glove, I’m riding in MX gloves right now on the
street but I just dont feel safe in them if I go down at speed!
2. Arai - Vector Nori Haga Replica (red)-
These new lids are second to none, and being a huge Haga fan I’m really impressed
with the graphics on the replica model!
3. Shift - Streetfighter Hybred Jacket (white)
-This coat looks great, and with a mix of leather and textile its super durable
yet breathes easy for those warm summer days.
4. Shift - Torque Jeans
I’ve really been looking for a great high performance jean to come out this year,
and with the 14oz jeans Shift came out with, these might be the answer to my
prayers!
5. DC - Mallard Boots-
I use my bike to commute EVERYWHERE, so a full on motorcycle boot isn’t for me,
but I found these boots that are super comfortable yet durable if I go down!
Iconaholic - by Josh Weinel
This list is what I’d get if money were no object. Of course, it is,
so I’ll have to be happy with the stuff that I have! haha It was selected from
the “2009 Icon Gear” email that I got from Motocycle-Superstore! Nothing like
cyber window shopping on that site!
1. I want a new helmet. The fact that this one is white and has a skull on it,
it’s perfect! Icon Airframe Death or Glory
2. I don’t really need another leather jacket, but if I could, I’d get the Death
or Glory Jacket to go with the helmet!
3. I need some new riding pants now that my old ones don’t fit so well anymore. I
loved the Superduty pants, but my Recon pants were the most versatile. So
I’d opt for the new Icon Victory Riding Pants.
4. I’ve got the waterproof Accelerant boots in black and have an odd affinity for
white shoes lately. So the Icon Tarmac Ventilated Boots look like a good fit.
5. I don’t think that I’d ever feel like it was enough coverage in case of an
accident, but I’d have to say that I would buy the
Regulator Stainless vest.

1. Alpinestars Stella Bionic: My Stella jacket gives me confidence. I think about my riding, not the fall. I have had my jacket for a year and use it for hours each week and there is not so much as the tiniest rip on the jacket. There
are undoubtedly scuffs and gashes in the armor, but this only enforces my love for the jacket, as I enjoy road rash on my armor, not my body.
2. Dainese SF Pelle Ladies Leather Jacket: So comfortable, top-of-the line leather jacket, and it’s just so sexy!
3. Shoei RF-1000: So I what I REALLY want is an x-11; but the RF-1000 is the
BEST value helmet on the market. Comfortable, quiet, with a fiberglass composite shell.
4. Dainese 3x knee-pads: After trying multiple ‘moto’ knee pads (only to have
them slide around, get in my way, or fall apart) the Dainese came into my life for the win. Durable, light-weight and flexible and full knee/shin protection. Worth every penny.
5. Womens Fox Dirtpaw Glove: The Dirtpaw is form-fitting, durable and airy. They offer padded knuckles, reinforced palms and air ventilation.

1. Icon Hella Crossbone Racer Jacket SUPER cute jacket with the skull and crossbones on the front.
2. Alpinstars Stella Tyla Leather Jacket Very simple, but has a few accents to make it girly.
3. Alpinestars Stella Tyla Gloves Equally as cute as the tyla jacket
4. Shift Racing Vertex Jacket Sweet looking jacket.
5. Speed and Strength To the Nines Jacket SUPER sweet jacket.

5. Icon Hayabusa Twenty-Niner Gloves
Pretty in Pink.. or black! By: Katie DallaRosa
1.) Alpinestars Stella Rebel jacket - sexy yet breathable.
2.) Pink Icon Airframe Regal helmet - sleek & elegant and still protecting my brain =)
3.) Pink Icon Twenty-Niner Gloves - Gives you air but still protective with leather palms, in case I have some hand to hand combat with the road. <3
4.) Alpinestars Stella Sniper jacket- can you say, sexy chick?! <3
5.) Icon womens Hella boots - protective, yet stylish, for those nights of down town riding with the boys.

1. Alpinestars Tech Race One-Piece Suit Liner I swear by suit liners. They make getting leather suits on and off much easier. And they help keep the funk to a minimum by soaking up the sweat before it soaks into your suit. The compression-fit design helps to reduce muscle fatigue.
2. Icon Women’s Hella Leather Pants These pants are oh, so sexy. I love the fact that they have cut-to-length inseams. I have long legs so it is hard to find riding pants that are long enough. The perforated inner thigh area and outside of the leg is a very nice touch. They also look like they have a mid-rise waist, which I really like. I am concerned about the lack of padding and armor in the hip and knee areas.
3. Icon Women’s Hella Crossbone Racer Jacket I love the simple look of this jacket. It is longer in the back, so that it covers the lower back area. The high collar looks good, but seems like it would choke you. A more flexible material would be ideal in the neck area. The collar from the Merc jacket would have been much better.
4. Scorpion Haley Ladies Leather Pants I like the look of these pants. And not only do they look good, but they also have padding and armor in all the right places. There is air flow to keep you cool and they are adjustable for a better fit. The downside to these pants is that they are low-rise.
5. Shoei RF-1000 Full Face Helmet - Caster TC-5 I love the fit of the Shoei RF-1000. This helmet fits my head perfect without feeling bulky. And being able to change the size of the cheek pads is a big plus! The only con is that this model/stlye isn’t available in a more feminine color.

4. Stella Cat Pants I need leather pants for the drag strip!
5. Scorpion Black Dahlia helmet
Safety Kicks by Tom Roma
1. Joe Rocket UFO Textile Jacket (Black) - Leather jackets are the best protection, but my UFO jacket seems to provide all the ventilation, comfort and adjustability that I was looking for!
2. Arai Vector - Your head is only worth as much as you’re willing to spend on a helmet, so I exceeded my budget with getting my Arai Vector, but it fit FAR better than any other helmet I tried on in that price range!
3. Shift Fuel Street Shoes (Black) - These shoes offer great support and are very inexpensive. Shift delivers again in price and durability.
4. Alpinestars 3/4 Gloves - Combining the features of a full glove with the price and fit of a normal glove, this glove is the perfect blend of protection and comfort. And they look great too!
5. Icon Victory Riding Pants - Look like jeans with full durability in vulnerable areas all for under $100. You couldn’t ask for anything more!

Extra Protection by Carlos Felix
1. Sidi Vertigo Boots My flip flops just aren’t cutting it anymore, so I thought I could protect my feet with these beauties. True the Vortice has more bells and whistles, but the Vertigo line is always sweet.
2. Forcefield Extreme Harness Protector My current vest is fine, but I always thought it should come down further. It was a great budget item, but I’d prefer a higher level of protection and comfort. And then I can give mine to a friend, protecting two people is always better!
3. Forcefield Pro Pants I shattered my pelvis in a car wreck back in 2003. I actually only started riding last season, but never without padded shorts. I know that I need the extra protection in the hips…
4. Held Suzuka Leather Race Suit I’ve been toying with idea of doing trackdays, but leathers are a requirement. I love my Held gloves, so the fact that Held now makes leathers, makes it easy for me.
5. Arai Corsair V Sakura What would a gear list be without a new lid? One helmet that I’m extremely
drawn to is the Sakura replica from Arai. It doesn’t match any of my blue stuff, but MAN I love that lid!
